Saab Phoenix is a concept car by Saab unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show 2011 was designed by Jason Castriota directly as one of the first creations for Saab. This design was inspired by the Saab 92 001, but the design cues of almost every model of Saab made. Cars using the same platform as the 2013 Saab 9-3 replacement and many designs will be brought from Phoenix to the Saab 9-3 replacement and other future.
Front suspension is by Hiper Strut while the rear is linked H-arm set-up.
This car has been equipped with a new hybrid all-wheel-drive system that is being developed in collaboration with the American Axle (AAM). This car is also equipped with IQon, a car information system which runs a customized version of Google Android.
The Phoenix was awarded the 2011 Auto Express design award with a landslide victory receiving 30% of the vote and therefore he beat Alfa Romeo 4C (2) and the Jaguar C-X75 (3).
Rights for the Phoenix platform is 100% owned by Saab, but using some part (less than 10%) purchased from GM.
